Alnwick
Castle - 'Windsor of the North', a medieval castle with
stunning State Rooms. Recently used as Hogwart's School in the Harry
Potter film, Philosopher's Stone.

Bamburgh Castle
- It is perched on a basalt outcrop on the very edge of the North
Sea at Bamburgh. It commands stunning views of the Farne Islands,
Holy Island and the Cheviot hills
Lindisfarne Castle - Perched on a high
pyramid of rock on Lindisfarne Island, the Castle was built in the
16th century to defend the island from Scottish raiders. It was restored
and converted into a fairytale castle by Sir Edward Lutyens in 1903.
Warkworth Castle - The castle was built
during the first part of the 12th century on a hill overlooking a
loop of the River Croquet.
Chillingham Castle
- Owned by the Grey family for over 700 years, the castle has changed
little since the 14th century. Bloody feuds between the Scots and
English and later the Reiver years often besieged the castle and often
entertained royal visitors.
Dunstanburgh Castle - Dating from 1314,
with a long and often tempestuous history, Dunstanburgh is the largest
of the Northumberland Castles.
Warkworth Castle - The ruins of Warkworth
Castle is one if the country's most imposing fortifications with its
cruciform keep and elegant tower.
Etal Castle - Fortified in the 14th Century,
this castle used to guard a crossing place on the River Till.

Golf Courses - There are many courses including
Dunstanburgh, Alnwick, Seahouses, Bamburgh, Linden Hall, Longhirst
Hall, Morpeth, Alnmouth and Burgham.
Northumberland National Park
Farne Islands - As well as being the most
famous Sea Bird Sanctuary in the British Isles they also have a large
colony of Atlantic or Grey Seals. Other wildlife include Puffins,
Pettrel, Guillemot and Cormerants. |

Wall - Originally spanning some 73 miles, this
was one of the Roman Empire's greatest feats of engineering.
Berwick-upon-Tweed
Kielder Water and Forest
- Kielder Water is the largest man-made lake in Europe. Kielder Forest
is one of Britain's biggest nature resorts and home to red squirrels,
deer and rare birds.
